Data deletion instructions

Last updated October 30, 2026 · Effective date: To be confirmed: effective date

You can remove Daytara's access to a connected account and delete the data Daytara stored from it. Some steps you can do yourself in Daytara; others, such as deleting your whole Daytara account, are handled by our team when you email us.

1. Disconnect an account and delete its data in Daytara

Anyone with permission to manage integrations for the venue can do this:

  1. Sign in to Daytara and choose the venue.
  2. Open Integrations, then the Social media tab.
  3. Select Disconnect next to the account.
  4. To delete the posts, metrics and history Daytara stored for that account, tick Also delete this account's stored history, then confirm.

When you disconnect, Daytara immediately:

  • deletes its stored access credential for the account;
  • stops reading data from it;
  • if you ticked the box, deletes the account's stored posts, post metrics, follower snapshots and daily metrics.

Daytara keeps the account's name, handle and connection status, and a change-log entry recording who disconnected it and when, so the venue has a record of the change. Email us if you want these removed too.

2. Remove Daytara from Instagram or Facebook

Instagram and Facebook don't let Daytara cancel its own access, so also remove it on their side. Menu names can change; at the time of writing:

  • Instagram: in Meta Business Settings, Integrations → Connected apps → remove Daytara. You can also use Instagram's Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites.
  • Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations → remove Daytara.

Removing Daytara there stops further access but doesn't delete what Daytara already stored. To delete that, disconnect it in Daytara as described above, or email us.

3. Ask us to delete your data

Email nova@daytara.com with the subject “Daytara data deletion request”. Please send it from the email address on your Daytara account if you have one, and include:

  • the venue name, if any;
  • what to delete: a connected account (with its platform and handle), a venue's imported data, or your whole Daytara account.

We check that the request comes from the account holder or someone authorized for the venue, then delete the data. This is done by our team, not automatically. We will confirm by email when it is done, within To be confirmed: response time.

Deleting your Daytara account removes your sign-in and your membership of every venue. Deleting a venue removes its imported reports, connected accounts, settings and history. If other people use the same venue, we will discuss it with the venue's owner first. To be confirmed: what, if anything, must be kept for legal or accounting reasons, and how long backups keep deleted data

4. If you're not a Daytara user

If you believe Daytara holds information about you, for example in a venue's imported report or a connected account's post text, email nova@daytara.com and we will look into it.

5. More information

See the Privacy Policy for what Daytara collects and how long it is kept.
